Opened: Aug 04, 2014

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

F5 virtual machine (VM) images are not released for hotfixes. The process of applying hotfixes for VMs is to install the released version of the software, and then apply the required hotfix on top of it.

Impact

Two installation steps, where one might be expected.

Conditions

Hotfix releases for VM installations.

Workaround

Install the released version of the software, and then apply the required hotfix.

Fix Information

This release contains base installation virtual machine (VM) images in addition to the hotfix updates. The VM images now consist of base release software, with hotfixes already applied. That means the system is immediately ready for deployment after hotfix installation, and no longer requires two steps (install the base installation image, and then install the hotfix).
