Symptoms

The System Activity Report (sar) utility fails to run due to corrupt report files.

Impact

Kernel statistics might be corrupted/unavailable.

Conditions

SA files exceeding 10 MB.

Workaround

Disable logfile splitting by setting maxsize to zero, or increase the maxsize value in logrotate to greater than the size of the largest expected SA file.

The System Activity Report (sar) utility fails now runs correctly with SA files exceeding 10 MB.
