Symptoms

In a sync-failover device group, upon adding a chassis for the first time and pushing the configuration to it, its secondary blades will have an mcpd restart. This error message will be logged: 01071488:3: Remote transaction for device group [name to commit id [...] failed with error 010718e7:3: The requested primary admin user (admin) must have a password set..

Impact

Most other services will also be impacted.

Conditions

This applies only to trust domains containing VIPRION chassis or VCMP guests, not standalone appliances.

Workaround

None.

Fix Information

Adding a new chassis and syncing the configuration no longer causes mcpd to restart.
