Symptoms

If GTM wideips are named with an asterisk (*) in them, for example *.f5.com, iControl REST cannot be used to fetch the wideip configuration.

Impact

iControl REST API cannot fetch individual GTM wideip records whose names contain * characters. The system reports the following error: Invalid URI.

Conditions

This issue occurs with GTM wideip names containing * characters.

Workaround

The workaround is to fetch all GTM wideip records and iterate over them.

Fix Information

iControl REST now works to fetch GTM wideip records whose names contain asterisk (*) characters.
