The upstream assert state info displayed in the show ip pim mroute command is wrong.
Incorrect state info might lead to wrong interpretation of the pim routing protocol state.
Atleast two Multicast flow paths between source and receiver with a routing protocol configured to select the best path.

show ip pim mroute displays correct assert info in the both upstream and downstream state.
