The 'mkdisk' utility creates bootable USB drives. It asks the user what F5 hardware platform the drive will be used to boot. It provides a list from which to select. Sometimes, the list is not up-to-date with all platform names that are appropriate for the software release to which 'mkdisk' is attached.
The user does not have a clear set of steps available for creating a functional USB drive
Always
Select the most similar platform name available in the list. In this case, 'most similar' is a process of rounding down to the next-closest platform name that is on the list. For example, if '7055' is not on the list, but '7050' is, then select '7050' from the list. The resulting USB drive will boot and install the software properly.
The 7255 and 10255 are now in the 'mkdisk' platform list.
