Symptoms

If the session expires or is killed for a View client that was authenticated with a smart card, the client does not allow for re-authenticating with a smart card. This is not an APM issue. Impact

If "required" access policy is set, "Smart Card not found" message even though the user's smart card is plugged in If "optional" access policy is set, the user will be prompted for username/password only, with no way to re-authenticate with a smart card at this point.

VMWare View configured for smart card use

Workaround

To work around the problem, disconnect from the previous (expired/killed) session and start a new one.
