Bug ID 526706: Setting cuSFP interface to media none does not disable interface.

Last Modified: Sep 13, 2023

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP TMOS(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
12.0.0, 12.0.0 HF1, 12.1.0 HF1, 12.0.0 HF2, 12.1.0 HF2, 12.0.0 HF3, 12.0.0 HF4, 12.1.1 HF1, 12.1.1 HF2, 12.1.2 HF1, 12.1.2 HF2

Fixed In:
12.1.0

Opened: Jun 05, 2015

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

The command 'modify net interface X.Y media none' does not disable the interface.

Impact

The interface may appear up to the other side.

Conditions

This occurs on an interface with an OPT-0015 copper SFP, when trying to bring the interface down.

Workaround

Use 'modify net interface X.Y disable' to bring down an interface, not setting the media to none.

Fix Information

Setting cuSFP interface to media-sfp or media-fixed to none now generates an error, which is correct behavior. To disable the interface use "modify net interface X.Y disable".
