Symptoms

If an iRule mentions another system object by name (such as specifying a pool or virtual server), then modification of that iRule fails with an error like this: 01070710:3: Database error (13), Can't save/checkpoint DB object, class:private_rule_dependency status:13 - EdbCfgObj.cpp, line 126.

Impact

The iRule editing operation fails.

Conditions

This does not happen the first time the iRule is created. It does not happen during configuration loads.

Workaround

1. Save the configuration. 2. Edit the configuration file directly to change the iRule. 3. Load the configuration.
