Symptoms

When a license is changed on a VE Big-IP and the new license has a different Mbps throughput rate limit, that new rate limit will not take effect until after a restart of the tmm occurs. There will be no prompt or warning that a restart is needed.

Impact

Applying a new license with a different rate limit will not take effect without additional maintenance.

Conditions

This applies only to BIG-IP VE

Workaround

issue "bigstart restart tmm" to restart the tmm without rebooting, or reboot the BIG-IP VE.

Fix Information

Applying a new license will result in the new Mbps rate limit taking effect immediately with no tmm restart required.
