Symptoms

The updatecheck script may fail to run correctly after the year changes.

Impact

Update check fails to check for updates and continues failing until the time-stamp of the last date checked is altered. The system posts a message similar to the following: Update Check not run. One week has not elapsed.

Conditions

Depending on the interval configured for weekly and monthly checks, the system cannot determine the interval after the year changes (for example, from 2014 to 2015).

Workaround

Run the updatecheck command with -f argument to update the last-checked date: /usr/bin/updatecheck -f To verify the variable has been updated, run the following command and view the variable 'last-checked': tmsh list sys software update-status EUD.

Fix Information

The updatecheck script now successfully evaluates intervals between year changes.
