Opened: Nov 18, 2015

Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

Server logs show error code 24577 if client (edge or browser) contacts server with invalid session information. ErrInvalidSession : Session ID is invalid. Error Code : 24577 Recommendation : Disconnect and connect again

Impact

Client needs to establish new session.

Conditions

Edge or browser client connects to APM with invalid session ID.

Workaround

Reconnecting usually corrects the invalid session problem. F5 Support has also found that in some cases this problem can occur due to malfunctioning SSL connections from continuous client-side checks (Antivirus, Firewall, etc). In this case, the VPN disconnects will be accompanied by SSL handshake or connection errors in the LTM log file at /var/log/ltm. Modifying the clientSSL profile to disable certain ciphers or disabling the continuous checks may resolve the problem.
