Symptoms

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 (IE11) shows numerous JavaScript errors in debug console opening SharePoint pages with document lists via Portal Access. As a result, part of SharePoint functionality is unavailable (document submenus, for instance). System posts the following message: Export to database failed. To export a list, you must have a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible application.

Impact

SharePoint application may not work correctly.

Conditions

- Using Portal Access in IE11. - Accessing SharePoint 2010 / 2013 / 2016. - Opening document library page in SharePoint.

Workaround

None, although you can successfully access the library directly using IE11.

Fix Information

Now SharePoint pages with shared document lists can be opened correctly via Portal Access.
