Symptoms

Hotfix installation fails using certain version 11.x software to host incremental hotfix application of version 12.x software.

Impact

Cannot install hotfix.

Conditions

This issue occurs when the following conditions are met: -- Active software is v11.x. -- Target software is v12.x. -- This is the first attempt install a hotfix to the installation target.

Workaround

Delete the target location, and perform the hotfix installation again. Subsequent attempts to install the hotfix will automatically install the base release first, which includes the needed DB hash type, and the hotfix will succeed.
