Symptoms

While saving an iRule containing HTTP::cookie without the value parameter, you get a validation warning: 'warning: [The following errors were not caught before. Please correct the script in order to avoid future disruption. 'unexpected end of arguments;expected argument spec:COOKIE_NAME"160 25][HTTP::cookie $cookie_name]'. The offending iRule command looks similar to this: [HTTP::cookie $cookie_name]

Impact

Validation warning incorrectly occurs if the optional 'value' parameter is left off. Note that the iRule is still loaded into the configuration.

Conditions

iRules containing HTTP::cookie, but missing the optional value parameter, e.g. [HTTP::cookie $cookie_name].

Workaround

Use the 'value' parameter in the HTTP::cookie command: [HTTP::cookie value $cookie_name].
