Symptoms

The BIG-IQ reported socket timeouts during the discovery phase where the Web Application Security policy items were being queried from the BIG-IP device.

Impact

As a result of the timeout condition, the device would not be able to be discovered and imported into the BIG-IQ Web Application Security Module.

Conditions

This condition could occur when the policy sub-collections contain a very large set of elements and the response and response time to get the entire set of elements exceeded the limits of the implementation.

None

Fix Information

The query to get the element has changed so that the system will get policy sub-collection items in smaller batch sizes so that the timeout limits are not exceeded.
