Fixed In:
12.0.0, 11.6.1 HF2

Opened: Sep 21, 2016

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

When clicking the Update button in the Security - Policies tab under Local Traffic :: Virtual Servers : Virtual Server List : <virtual-server>, after enabling an ASM policy there is a delay and then the following error may appear: "An error has occurred while trying to process your request." This can occur even if you have a small number of policies, but one policy is being assigned to hundreds of Virtual Servers.

Impact

Updates can take a long time in the Security - Policies tab after enabling an ASM policy, and you may receive a page error "An error has occurred while trying to process your request."

Conditions

-- ASM is provisioned -- A single ASM policy is assigned to hundreds of LTM Virtual Servers

Workaround

Association of LTM virtual server to ASM Policy may be alternatively done by: - TMSH - GUI @ "Local Traffic ›› Policies : Policy List" (*) in both cases an LTM policy needs to be created first
