Bug ID 623049: Passthrough mode configuration in Client-initiated Forms SSO may not work correctly

Last Modified: Apr 28, 2025

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP APM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
13.0.0, 13.0.0 HF1, 13.0.0 HF2, 13.0.0 HF3, 13.0.1

Opened: Oct 17, 2016

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

v13.0 of APM includes a new feature where Client-initiated forms SSO can be configured to monitor web applications to suggest possible configurations to an APM administrator to make it easier to set up. This function utilizes the log file to emit log lines to suggest the configuration of SSO. However the logs for this feature lose approximately 15-30% of content.

Impact

Feature may work intermittently because up to 30% of the logs may be lost.

Conditions

Use new client-initiated forms SSO passthrough configuration feature in v13.0.

Workaround

Instead of using the new feature to configure Client-initiated forms SSO, instead configure it manually after examining the HTML source code of the target login page.
