Symptoms

When installing a hotfix, specifying the current, active volume as the destination produces no warning.

Impact

The installation does not complete successfully, and there is no error message presented. Note: The BIG-IP install mechanism does not allow installation to the active instance. Changes must be made to an offline instance. Once the offline instance has the desired software, you can boot the system to the modified slot. In earlier releases, the TMUI properly rejected requests to install to the active volume. That does not happen in this release.

Conditions

-- Installing a hotfix. -- Specifying the currently active volume as the destination.

Workaround

Select another volume when installing a hotfix.

Fix Information

A warning message is displayed when specifying the current volume during hotfix installation.
