The default email parameter regex expression built into ASM via the system variable 'ecard_regexp_email' reports a violation when encountering a parameter configured in the policy with a data type of 'Email' and having a value consisting of one of the special characters defined in RFC3696 section #3: ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` . { | } ~
ASM flags an 'Illegal parameter data type' violation.
-- Policy is configured with a Global or URL-level parameter with Data Type set to 'Email'. -- System variable 'ecard_regexp_email' is configured with the default value.
1. Change the regular expression for System variable 'ecard_regexp_email' to the following value so that it conforms to RFC: ^\s*[\w!#$%&'*+/=?^_`{|}~-]+(?:\.[\w!#$%&'*+/=?^_`{|}~-]+)*@([\w.-]+)\s*$ 2. Restart ASM process. restart /sys service asm
