There is no indication that mcpd has restarted, but the system logs messages similar to the following: -- In /var/log/tmm: notice MCP connection expired early in startup; retrying. In/var/log/ltm: mcpd[5747]: 01070406:5: Removed publication with publisher id TMM1.
The TMM processes will restart and fail to come up properly.
The file /dev/vnic is opened by something other than BIG-IP programs.
To recover, reboot the system. Note: Do not perform file open operations on /dev/vnic. There is no need to.
