Opened: May 04, 2017

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

When a BIG-IP trunk is connected to an Arista multi-chassis link aggregation (MLAG) pair, the trunk may go completely down if the Arista MLAG peer link is disconnected.

Impact

Entire trunk goes down. Note: This is a race condition that is an issue with the Arista MLAG configuration and not the BIG-IP system behavior. According to Arista, the issue appears to be limited to the Arista 7050 switches.

Conditions

-- BIG-IP system connected to Arista MLAG switch pair. -- Trunk with two or more physical interfaces. -- Interfaces spanning both of the MLAG peers. -- Arista MLAG peer link is disconnected.
