Opened: Aug 16, 2017

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

Microsoft Internet Explorer may use several emulation modes for HTML pages. The mode can be set by special <META> tag inside the page. This tag may be preceded by another tags with URLs, for example, <LINK> tags. Portal Access inserts auxiliary <SCRIPT> tags before <LINK> tag if this has not been done before. Internet Explorer ignores <META> tags with emulation mode setting after <SCRIPT> tags.

Impact

Wrong emulation mode is used for this HTML page in Internet Explorer. This may lead to incorrect behavior of Web application.

Conditions

- Microsoft Internet Explorer - HTML page with <META http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" ...> tag and <LINK> tag before this <META> tag

Workaround

Use iRule to move <META http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" ...> tag in front of any <LINK> tags.
