Opened: Dec 05, 2017
Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

The MIB for LSN stats defines the active stats as counters. However, the behavior of these stats are more accurately reflected as a gauge type. Impacted stats: F5-BIG-IP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmLsnPoolStatActiveTranslations F5-BIG-IP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmLsnPoolStatActiveHairpinConnections F5-BIG-IP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmLsnPoolStatActivePortBlocks F5-BIG-IP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmLsnPoolStatActiveClientsReachedLimit F5-BIG-IP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmLsnPoolStatActiveZombiePortBlocks F5-BIG-IP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysLsnPoolStatActiveTranslations F5-BIG-IP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysLsnPoolStatActiveHairpinConnections F5-BIG-IP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysLsnPoolStatActivePortBlocks F5-BIG-IP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysLsnPoolStatActiveClientsReachedLimit F5-BIG-IP-SYSTEM-MIB::sysLsnPoolStatActiveZombiePortBlocks

Impact

This could cause confusion when viewing the stats via SNMP.

Conditions

Occurs when CGNAT is provisioned and LSN stats are viewed via SNMP

Workaround

The administrator can view and treat these stats as a gauge type even though they are defined as a counter.
