Symptoms

The mcpd process becomes unresponsive while attempting to load the configuration, or attempting to apply a configuration change that associates a particular local traffic policy to a virtual server. The mcpd process may also periodically restart every 5 minutes.

Impact

Traffic disrupted while mcpd restarts.

Conditions

- Virtual servers configured. - Specific policies configured and attached used by virtual servers. Only policies configured in a specific way will trigger this situation. The specifics are not well understood, however, the vast majority of Local Traffic Policies are unaffected by this issue.

Workaround

There is no workaround.

Fix Information

mcpd is responsive when an LTM Policy is attached to a virtual server, or when an already-attached policy is updated.
