Symptoms

For a new BIG-IP instance deployed in Google Compute Engine, if gcloud is used to login for the first time, a benign error message is displayed: Syntax Error: unexpected argument "true"

Impact

A message is printed to console, and also logged indicating a syntax error, but otherwise has no functional impact.

Conditions

Use gcloud to login to a new GCE instance for the first time.

Workaround

None needed. This is a spurious error and can safely be ignored.
