Opened: Jan 18, 2018 Severity: 4-Minor
Using the iRule command 'persist cookie insert' to insert session cookies with specific persist expiration values may cause requests to fail and to log a message similar to the following: -- err tmm2[30996]: 01220001:3: TCL error: /Common/persist_it <HTTP_REQUEST> - invalid cookie expiration: 0d 09:00:00 (line 1) invoked from within "persist cookie insert "cookie" "0d 09:00:00""
Clients get (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer when accessing the virtual server. Not all values cause an error; some may pass, but the cookie may not expire at the expected time due to being parsed as non-base 10 values.
-- Using the iRule command 'persist cookie insert'. -- Setting an expiration using the '0d 00:00:00' optional expiration argument.
There is no workaround. A session cookie can be set without an expiration date. The system generally stores session cookies in volatile memory, by client, and the cookies expire when the user session expires (that is when the browser shuts down).

Using the iRule command 'persist cookie insert' to insert persist expiration values parses the time rather than failing a request with a TCL error.
