Opened: Mar 22, 2018

Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

Downloading a file from System :: Support appends unneeded bits.

Impact

Opening the file may post a warning, but the file is still usable. The size of qkview files is different if you compare files on the BIG-IP system (in /shared/support) and after downloading: they are bigger, rounding up to the nearest 4096 bytes. Unneeded bits are appended to the end of the file, resulting in warnings from unzip utilities, but you can upload the files to the BIG-IP iHealth Diagnostic Tool without error.

Conditions

Downloading a file from System :: Support.

Workaround

To prevent a file size change, copy the file directly via ssh instead of downloading.
