Symptoms

A device template change does not take effect for an existing AWS service scaling group (SSG).

Impact

A change to a device template does not take effect.

Conditions

Changed a device template for an existing AWS SSG.

Workaround

1. Find the cloud environment associated with the SSG. 2. Open the cloud environment and change the "Instance Type" say from m4.xlarge to m4.2xlarge 3. Open the SSG's configuration page 4. Click the Devices 5. Select all the devices and click the Replace button 6. This will start the re-deployment process. 7. Wait till it completes. 8. Go back to the cloud environment and change the "Instance Type" back to the original value. 9. Open the SSG's configuration page 10. Click the Devices 11. Select all the devices and click the Replace button 12. This will start the re-deployment process. 13. Wait till it completes.
