Symptoms

If you do not have the LTM service imported for the BIG-IP device load balancing traffic to your SSG, you'll get an error similar to: app creation failed with message: Failed to pin folder 'Common/myRealAppOnSSGV13' since: cannot find root node for devices (58ac5359-eda2-4cad-9cd4-b2c8dfb8e375).

Impact

Can't deploy applications.

Conditions

Attempt to deploy an application to an SSG that does not have LTM discovered for its load balancer.

Workaround

Locate the BIG-IP that is load balancing traffic to your SSG and import the appropriate services.
