Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

SFC chain is not completely deleted even though it shows it as deleted on the GUI thereby preventing creation of new chain with the same name.

Impact

User cannot create a chain with that name, but can use another name and configure the chain.

Conditions

1. Create a chain from SFC controller 2. Map this chain to a rule in pem policy in the classifier BIG-IP. 3. Delete the chain from the controller 4. Try creating another chain using the same chain name An error message is displayed saying chain with the specified name already exists.

Workaround

3 options 1. Use a different name and path-id for the new chain. 2. Delete the old chain from the classifier using BIG-IP CLI. 3. Disassociate all the rules from the chain using BIG-IP GUI/CLI before deleting the chain from the SFC controller GUI - This option prevents the issue from occurring whereas the first two are done to fix the issue after it has occurred.
