Opened: Dec 04, 2018

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

Recursive ECMP route may not use a correct nexthop when nexthop of a route changes.

Impact

Incorrect routing.

Conditions

In a corner case where ECMP recursive route is updated and a nexthop of a new route entry resolves recursively to exactly same nexthop as the one used by old route entry, RIB table may not reflect the change still using the old route entry.

Workaround

- clear BGP session with "clear ip bgp" command through IMISH

None
