Bug ID 752556: "Apply Access Policy" does not work for certain Access Guided Configuration Deployments

Last Modified: Aug 18, 2023

Affected Product(s):
AGC APM(all modules)

Opened: Dec 10, 2018

Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

When you deploy the API Protection Proxy configuration and then disable the Managed Configuration feature, the Apply Access Policy link is shown in the top left of the AGC screen. When you try to apply the policy using this link, the link opens an empty page instead of displaying the list of access policies that can be applied.

Impact

Admin will not be able apply changes to the access policy by using the "Apply Access Policy" link in the displayed.

Conditions

"API Protection Proxy" application is deployed using Access Guided Configuration, and admin disables the "Managed Configuration" feature on that app.

Workaround

As a workaround, you can apply the access policy using the following TMSH command: "tmsh modify apm profile access <profile-name> generation-action increment" Prepend the <profile-name> with the folder name of the app. For example, if you deployed an application using the name "apiProtection101" the command to run would be: "tmsh modify apm profile access apiProtection101.app/apiProtection101_ap generation-action increment"
