Symptoms

The ISTATs daemon processes data in the archive.tm2 data file, residing on the disk, which tracks configuration changes for istats data. The processing can become inefficient when the file grows large, causing the ISTATs daemon to use excessive CPU.

Impact

The archive.tm2 file to grow too large. The control plane is starved of CPU for other operations.

Conditions

Many istats configuration changes over time.

Workaround

Remove the /var/tmstat2/blade/archive.tm2 file from disk.
