The System :: Services WebUI screen is not fully compatible with cluster systems (this includes both VIPRION devices and vCMP guests running on VIPRION). The page allows a BIG-IP administrator to inspect, start, and stop big3d, gtmd, named, ntpd, snmpd, sshd, zrd, and websso; however, stopping the sshd daemon on a blade will prevent this feature from working correctly thereafter. Blades where sshd is not running will not report any of the core services in the Services List.
None of the core services can be inspected, started, or stopped by an Administrator via the System :: Services WebUI screen.
This issue occurs when the following conditions are met: - The platform is a VIPRION or a vCMP guest running on a VIPRION. - The sshd daemon is stopped on one or more blades.
If possible, do not stop the sshd daemon on VIPRION or vCMP-on-VIPRION devices, as this hinders the correct functionality of these systems. If you have already stopped the sshd daemon on a blade, you will only be able to restart it in one of the following ways: - Via a serial console (or vconsole, for guests) connection to the blade. Log on and issue the 'bigstart start sshd' command. - By using the bladectl utility to access the serial console of another blade (though only B4100, B4200, B4300, and B4400 blades support this; this is not possible on B2100, B2150, and B2250 blades). Log on and issue the 'bigstart start sshd' command. - By performing a 'Reboot Chassis' operation via the WebUI (under System->Configuration->Device->General).
