Bug ID 811021: The nitrox_diag utility may not include register dump values for crypto accelerators

Last Modified: Jul 13, 2024

Affected Product(s):
BIG-IP LTM(all modules)

Known Affected Versions:
11.6.0, 11.6.0 HF1, 11.6.0 HF2, 11.6.0 HF3, 11.6.0 HF4, 11.6.0 HF5, 11.6.0 HF6, 11.6.0 HF7, 11.6.0 HF8, 11.6.1, 11.6.1 HF1, 11.6.1 HF2, 11.6.2, 11.6.2 HF1, 11.6.3, 11.6.3.1, 11.6.3.2, 11.6.3.3, 11.6.3.4, 11.6.4, 11.6.5, 11.6.5.1, 11.6.5.2, 11.6.5.3

Opened: Jul 30, 2019

Severity: 3-Major

Symptoms

Running the nitrox_diag may not include Nitrox3 register values when gathering device diagnostic information from guest.

Impact

Not all available debugging information will be included for diagnosis. This makes investigating hardware-related issues involving Nitrox3 more difficult.

Conditions

This occurs when the host is running 11.6.x, when the guest is running 14.1.0.1, and when the guest runs nitrox_diag. Running nitrox_diag on the host still works. Running nitrox_diag in older guests still works.

Workaround

You can still run nitrox_diag, but it will not include register dumps. In some cases this is okay: the other information gathered by nitrox_diag may be sufficient to resolve issues under investigation.
