Symptoms

When the host powers on, AOM reports an event : 13 | 12/31/1999 | 16:00:40 Fan Fan_5 0x2e | Lower Critical going low | Asserted This event occurs as the fans are spinning up to their operating speed, and is followed 10 seconds later by an event that indicates the fan has reached the correct operating range: 6 | 12/31/1999 | 16:00:50 Fan Fan_5 0x2e | Lower Critical going low | Deasserted

Impact

These 'Asserted'/'Deasserted' events represent how the system reports the fan spinning up to speed. They are benign messages that can be ignored. The system will continue to operate normally. This event/alert can be cleared and ignored.

Conditions

This can occur under the following conditions: -- During a cold boot. -- When the host is powered on from the AOM menu.

Workaround

Ignore or clear the event/alert.
