Edge Client on Windows may not be able to auto-update to the latest version on the BIG-IP system if the client is not restarted after a previous auto-update.
Edge Client application is not updated until it is restarted. This may manifest in different ways if the old version of Edge Client is not compatible with newer versions of other components.
-- Edge Client has not been restarted after auto-update from a previous version. For example, 7.1.8 update2 to 7.1.8 update3. -- A newer version of Edge Client, such as 7.1.9, is available on the BIG-IP system.
Manually restart the Edge Client after the update.
