On rare occasions, when you upgrade a BIG-IQ/DCD running a version earlier than 7.1, the upgrade might fail with an error similar to the following: "Failed. Software installation failed for device <IP address> due to 'Device installation failed due to unable to complete UCS backup for <IP address> due to timeout'. Rolling back."
The BIG-IQ upgrade fails.
This can happen when you upgrade BIG-IQ/DCD with a UCS backup. During the upgrade, the UCS might take longer than 10 minutes to complete which prompts BIG-IQ to time out.
To work around this issue, start the UCS backup prior to the upgrade, then start the upgrade without creating a backup.
