Opened: Jun 09, 2020

Severity: 4-Minor

Symptoms

Config sync takes a long time to complete, and the system posts warnings if the configuration size is huge: -- Longer time in config sync if the config size is bigger (e.g., longer than 10 minutes). -- GUI might disconnect. -- The SNMP daemon might be unavailable.

Impact

-- Config sync to the peer takes a longer duration to complete. The length of time depends on the configuration size. -- The GUI might disconnect to preserve traffic services. -- There could be issues with continuous SNMP monitoring.

Conditions

-- Full sync is triggered when configuration size is huge, for example, 20 MB. -- Incremental sync might also take a long time if the size of the modified change is bigger than the maximum of 10 MB.

Workaround

You can reduce the time impact by splitting the configuration into different device groups and partitions.
