Symptoms

When upgrading a BIG-IQ VE with a 95G disk size to 7.1.0 or later, the upgrade fails with the following error: Failed (Disk full (volume group). See SOL#10636)

Impact

BIG-IQ VE upgrade fails because there is insufficient disk space.

Conditions

This error occurs when you upgrade a BIG-IQ VE that uses a 95G disk size to version 7.1.0 or later.

Workaround

Before you start the upgrade to 7.1.0: 1. Shut down the BIG-IQ VE. 2. Increase the disk size to 120G 3. Restart the BIG-IQ VE. 4. Begin the 7.1.0 upgrade.
